Hey everybody, I just wanted to give you a quick update on things…
First, just starting with SaberSim. So once sport’s returned a few months back, our revenue has rebounded and we’re actually at new all-time highs and continuing to grow. Our team has expanded and I feel like right now, there’s still a lot of growing pains that we’re sorting through, but we’re really hitting our stride, especially when it comes to the tech side of things around product development and paying down tech debt and those are areas that we have historically struggled with.
There’s still a lot more for us to do and a lot more we want to do, but we’re really happy with where we’re at right now and feel like we’re for the first time firing on all cylinders. I’m still making a ton of mistakes along the way, but I’m truly learning a ton every single day. And have never been more excited about the future of the business than I am right now.
I also recently launched a podcast called Seeking Scale that I’m co-hosting with Craig Hewitt, who’s the founder and CEO of Castos, where and his team are making podcasts and easing accessible to everybody. You can check out Seeking Scale. I am pretty sure… I’m just pretty much anywhere where you listen to this any podcast player or over at seekingscale.com. And the podcast is just all about our journeys to one million ARR and beyond.
Our businesses are both at similar spots. And we use the show to dig into what we’re working on, what we’re struggling with, maybe what we’ve learned. It’s not to say that we’re experts by any means. There is still a ton we are figuring out. But the show is really a way to call it, follow along our journey, go through the ups and the downs and see what we’re figuring out as we’re actually going through these challenges.
It has really just been great having Craig as a co-host because there is a ton of experience that he can share that I can really draw on. And it’s just a great person to bounce ideas off of and just help me think through some of the things that I’m going through my own. So we release episodes every Monday. We’re still in the early days of this and really working to find our voice and just find the best way to structure the episode. So let us know what we’re doing well, what we’re not doing well, how we can improve that sort of thing. Always happy to hear from listeners.
The effective founder isn’t going anywhere, but I am going to make some changes. Instead of releasing an episode every week, all year long, what I’m going to be doing is putting out a few seasons a year. The reason for this is that it takes off the pressure of having to put something out every single week and lets me go really deep into specific themes or topics—and that’s something I’m super excited about.
I don’t want to feel like I’m in a position where I just have to churn out content. I want to go deep into topics. I want to be excited about all the interviews and really just think of ways that we can make this content as valuable and as interesting and informative as possible.
